How to Launch a Successful Blog

You have to make it clear why blog before want to know how to launch a succeddful blog, this is very important. Some people blog for the sake of being heard. Some blog to let their thoughts and feelings out. Many bloggers find blogging as a good way to make extra income whilst sharing knowledge. Sadly, there are some negative people who think blogging is a waste. And you?

Daily Blog Tips new article “12 Steps to Launch a Successful Blog” is good.

1. Decide what you are going to blog about, this is by far the most important decision in order to How to Launch a Successful Blogcreate a successful property. It is acceptable if the subject is broad in the beginning, as you gain more experience and learn what your readers want, you can become more focused. For example, in the beginning you may blog about online marketing in general but down the road realize that you want to focus on just seo practices or social media marketing.

2. Decide for your blog’s name. The name needs to be memorable, easy to spell and it would be advisable to include a keyword of the topics you will be blogging about, that is if you blog about online marketing and social media it, try to add words like social, media, marketing, in your domain name.

3. Get a professional blog theme, I would advise Thesis theme and Woothemes, they are very easy to customize with tons of features. Do not try to save few dollars by getting a free theme, because most of them do have limitations and do not come with support. You do not need to have a custom design for your blog, at least in the beginning, as you gain more experience and readers, you can consider that for a major update.

4. Get a professionally designed logo, it will cost you few dollars to have a designer do that but will put you ahead of competition, furthermore, readers will take you more seriously and they see you invest money and time in creating a serious blog.

5. Select a good and reliable web host, shop around for a reliable web hosting provider that can help you in setting up your blog as well, do not go for the cheapest but for those specializing in wordpress. Start with a share hosting account and if you grow big, move to a dedicated server.

Hostgator: one good blog host with fast support and reliable servers. Get Hostgator discount code

6. Install few but powerful wordpress plugins. I have personally used them and highly recommend them. Avoid stuffing your blog with as many plugins as possible because they will eventually make your blog hard to navigate and make readers lose focus.

Do we really need keyword tools? Some of my best results online have come about after having completely disregarded them. That said, I have also achieved some excellent results through using them. The major problem that I have with keyword tools is their lack of consistency, as well as some general uncertainty in relation to the validity of information sometimes a more than apparent lack of updates.

How to Protect your site from Hotlinking

If you want to save your website/blog’s traffic from image hotlinking, you should know how to protect your site from hostlinking, how to do it? You can set it as below step easy!

While Blogger and Flickr may allow you to hotlink and embed imagines hosted by them on your blog, you should not allow others to hotlink and embed images hosted on your server. Blogger and Flickr may have the resources to do it but you’ll want to save your resources for your blog only. You can prevent image hotlinking by adding the following code into your blog .htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(wp-login.php|wp-admin/|wp-content/plugins/|wp-includes/).* [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.78hg.com.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(ico|pdf|flv|jpg|jpeg|mp3|mpg|mp4|mov|wav|wmv|png|gif|swf|css|js)$ – [F,NS,L]

Change the domain to your blog and you’re set. The code will prevent the hotlinking of photos, musics, video or any other files you want to add.

Certainly, if your hosting support Cpanel as control cpanel like Hostgator, you can do it more easy too.

1. Login cPanel
2. Click HotLink Protection
3. Hotlink protection is currently enabled  choose enabled

Urls to Allow Access
Extensions to allow (seperate by commas)
Url to Redirect to
Allow direct requests (ie. entering the url to an image in your browser)

Choose as you want and then Click Activate to save, Ok.

Two Affiliate Program Links Cloak Script

Do we really need cloaked affiliates program links anymore? Sure, we need. Affiliate links hider help you hide your affiliate link from your site visitors. If it’s too obvious that your link is an affiliate link, visitors might not click on it or they might go straight to the main URL of the link. In effect this means you will not receive a commission from these users even though you were the one who referred them. To solve this problem you can cloak your link; the link will point to the same URL, but the status bar will not show that URL to your visitors, there are many other cloaking options.
